Who is MonkeyMind Counselling

MonkeyMind Counselling supports neurodivergent individuals for whom standard counselling approaches haven’t been enough. My work draws on a deep understanding of autism, ADHD, emotional regulation, nervous system safety, and psychosocial disorders, with particular experience supporting people during periods of heightened emotional distress. This approach focuses on helping people feel safer, steadier, and better understood. If you’re looking for therapy that adapts to you, rather than asking you to adapt to therapy, you’re in the right place.

How MonkeyMind Counselling Is Different

MonkeyMind Counselling works differently because it starts with a realistic understanding of how behaviour actually forms under stress, not how people should behave when they feel safe.

Many counselling approaches rely on insight, talking, or motivation — assuming the person has access to calm thinking, emotional language, and self-control.
For many of the people I work with, that assumption simply isn’t true yet.
